Bad Apple

“Fantastic! So freakin’ cool. Love the sound, like they dropped in from the sixties.” (A Happy Customer)

“Which one of you bitches is my mother?!” This pedal has an identity crisis! It was designed for a hobby magazine in 1968 with features from 1962, re-jigged by me in 2020. What a mix!

It’s close to a raw early germanium fuzz like the Maestro Fuzztone, but fuller, louder, more versatile and with more sustain. It still has that early feel that Good Fuzzy Sounds is all about.

With three germanium transistors powered by two AA batteries, it’s built in old-school point-to-point style on phenolic board in a US civil defence enclosure.

I originally called it the Throwback.
